Our Purpose

Canada is expected to welcome 1.45 million immigrants over the next three years, with Statistics Canada projecting that the proportion of immigrants could reach up 30% by 2036. More than half would be of Asian origin. Of the Government of Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2023-2025, more than 20% are expected to be skilled workers, including experienced finance professionals.

As we listened, we found that the barriers hindering Newcomer financial services professionals, were the same barriers as other predominantly visible minorities. The disability community, women, those facing ageism, or facing economic discrimination because of their inability to pay for higher education all share similar hiring barriers.

What We Have Learned

What We Aim to Accomplish

The Summit looks to address the recruitment challenges encountered by the sector itself. By understanding and addressing these issues, we can collectively work towards creating a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce that can truly leverage the broad knowledge capital, the depth of experience, unique insights, and expansive networks that these finance professionals bring to Canadian financial industry employers.
