Margaret Bennett is a National Recruiting Consultant at Canada Life, focused on our strategy to increase women other historically underrepresented groups as financial advisors. She is a CFP®; a member of Advocis Canada; and Canada Life’s Diversity Proxy to the Women’s Executive Network (WXN).
Prior to this role, Margaret was responsible for recruiting and developing a team of new advisors in the Niagara region. She prided herself on the diversity of her team that included an Iraqi refugee, a Bajan permanent resident, and was equally split between men and women. They taught her so much about broadening her understanding of financial advice and how people of different backgrounds relate to money and planning. In 2020 she was awarded “Excellence in Management” for her team’s performance and adaptability to the COVID-19 crisis. Before entering financial services, she worked for 7 years in advertising, including stints in London, England, and Singapore.
Outside of work, Margaret is an active volunteer in her community. She is co-chair of her community association, Board Member of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, and was a federal candidate for Hamilton Centre in the 2021 election. When not working she can be found running or exploring the independent shops, cafes, and trails in her neighbourhood.
